São Paulo –The Diplomacia Civil program from Brazil’s Instituto Global Attitude, is accepting applications from Brazilians students, professionals or researchers aged 18 to 35 to join the World Green Economy Summit (WGES) in Dubai, UAE next October. A fee is involved, and entries will be accepted through August 25 (pictured above is a panel during WGES 2018).
Held by the World Green Economy Organization and the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (Dewa), the WGES is taking place October 20 and 21. Discussions will include the challenges and advances in green economy and the sustainable agenda in light of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate actions. This edition will be themed Innovative Technologies for a Sustainable Economy.
Partly concurrent with the WGES, the Dubai World Trade Centre will host sustainability expo Wetex, from October 21 to 23. The trip will run from October 18 to 23. It will also include the Wetex and other activities.
The program is designed to involve young Brazilians in international discussions, connecting them with people who can help them in their missions and enable them to step into leadership positions that can make a difference in Brazil and worldwide.
At the WGES, the travelers will watch panels and lectures with world leaders and international delegates. They will also sit in exclusive meetings arranged by Instituto Global Attitude. Prior to the events, they will undergo training, and each will write an article about the Summit’s theme under an academic supervisor.
Applicants are required to fill in an online form and supply a resumé. Selection will be made on the basis of academic and professional history, reasons for joining, English-speaking skills, and involvement with subjects related to the Summit. The average cost is BRL 10,000, including air travel, credentials for the event, accommodations, health insurance, training, supervision for the article, and a certificate.
Instituto Global Attitude’s Diplomacia Civil program takes young people to several international forums and events. Entries are also open until August 25 for The Nairobi Summit, on female empowerment, set to take place next November in Nairobi, Kenya.
