According to him, the nearly USD 10 million project will be implemented by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) funded by the Climate Change Fund to help adapt the country to tackle global climate changes.
The initiative includes planting trees to produce gum arabic to contribute to the stability of producers, train them and raise their capabilities in the field of model production to maximize their return, the director of the National Forestry Corporation in North Kordofan was quoted as saying in a statement to SUNA.
According to Mohamedain, the project plans to reach 580 associations of gum arabic producers in 11 localities in the three states. The initiative will last for five years.
