São Paulo – Samples of cosmetics from Pronatus, a company based in Amazonas state, should arrive in the Arab market in the next month. The company attended a fair in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, two months ago and met with importers interested in its products. Pronatus’ national sales manager, Walter Antônio Limiro, who attended the fair, believes he can close deals with Saudi Arabia, Qatar and United Arab Emirates, where his samples are going.
Pronatus is based in the capital Manaus and manufactures products using input from the Amazon forest. Among the main cosmetics sold are the massage gel Copaíba Ice Andiroba, which is anti-inflammatory, the cream for feet skin cracks Pomada Santa, which brings anti-inflammatory, moisturizing and repellent components, and Skin Cure Mulateiro, which promises skin regeneration and is made using murumuru, a native palm, and mulateiro, a long-lived tree of the Amazon forest that dies looking young.
The main products sold include Dermo baby, a lotion against baby rash made from Brazil nut oil, the hand and feet moisturizer Cupuaçu, made with the Amazon fruit, the shampoo Amor Crescido (Grown Love), made from a vine of the same name and that promises the effects of full and silky hair, besides Óleo Elétrico (Electric Oil), used for relaxing massages that has the ability to clear the airways.
Pronatus exports only to Japan and the fair attended by the company in Dubai, the Beautyworld Middle East, in May, was its first visit abroad. Limiro was very enthusiastic about the exhibition and also will send samples to possible buyers in Portugal and Italia found while in Dubai. According to the national sales manager, the company plans to grow abroad and will attend other fairs outside the country to find international clients. The next one will be in August, in Colombia.
The goal of Pronatus is for the external market to buy more than 30% of the company’s output in the medium and long term, around two to three years. The most promising regions, measured by the interest shown, according to Limiro, are the Middle East and Europe. According to the executive, Pronatus is adapting packaging and products and will start to arrange the needed registrations for the products in each country.
It’s a small size company but Limiro believes in a strong growth in the next few years. “Those who use our products, comes back to buy again”, he says. The brand is strong in the North and Northeast regions. It’s also operating and expanding in the South, Southeast and Midwest regions in Brazil. In the Rio de Janeiro state, Pronatus sells well, according to Liro. The products are sold in pharmacies, including manipulation ones, supermarkets, hypermarkets, besides the cosmetics stores.
