São Paulo – Qatar achieved a real economic growth of 8% in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, according to information released by the Saudi news website Arab News this Tuesday (4) based on data from the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) of Qatar. The actual growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) does not consider the effects of inflation or deflation.
According to estimates, Qatar’s GDP reached QAR 179.9 billion, about USD 49.4 billion at the current rate. The revised figures for the fourth quarter of 2021 indicated the country had a GDP of QAR 166.6 billion, about USD 45.7 billion at the current rate. The last quarter of 2022 was when Qatar hosted the International Association Football Federation (FIFA) World Cup from November to December.
