São Paulo – The seventh edition of the International Petroleum Technology Conference will take place from January 19th to 22nd in Doha, Qatar. The event will be attended by oil ministers from the region, other government officials and industry delegates.
This should be the largest edition yet of the event, which is alternately held in Asia and the Middle East. Approximately 150 exhibitors and over 7,000 visitors are expected. The conference will include technical sessions, seminars, and meetings focusing on spreading new oil technologies, best practices, and multidisciplinary activities designed to highlight the importance of the petroleum value chain.
The speakers will include delegates from major multinational corporations, like Qatar Petroleum, Qatargas, Total, Exxon Mobil, Saudi Aramco and Shell. The non-technical panels that may appeal the most to foreigners include one explaining how to bid in Qatar Petroleum tenders.
The International Petroleum Technology Conference is organized by the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers, the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Since its first edition, in 2005, the event has taken place in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Thailand and China. For additional information go to www.iptcnet.org/2014/doha/index.php.Q
