São Paulo – Rio de Janeiro will host two great events focussed on investors. Accelerate Brazil and Accelerate Oil & Gas, scheduled to take place in May 2013, should bring together businessmen and executives from companies in the oil and infrastructure areas for talks and business meetings.
Accelerate Brazil should be promoted on May 7th and 8th, focussed on the areas of logistics, transportation, energy, basic sanitation and built environment (malls, hotels and houses). The events are being organized by the British Faircount Media Group, which operates in publications and events.
The forum will include a fair with 50 exhibitors, as well as conferences, a breakfast and two business lunches. “We will have a workshop to cover what must be done for the World Cup and Olympics. What has already been done for these events should also be covered, as should what companies must do to sell their products, what the financing sources will be and the solutions for Brazil to be able to receive these two events well,” said Loran Mariano, Development and Business director at Faircount.
Among the speakers who have already been confirmed are Nelson Siffert Filho, the infrastructure superintendent at the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES); Luiz Gabriel de Azevedo, president of the Brazilian Water Resource Association (ABRH); Marcelo Carvalho, Economic Research director for Latin America at BNP Paribas; and Claudia Schaeffer, Energy and Climate Change director for Latin America at Dow Chemical, among others.
“The idea is to seek private and governmental companies, investors and financing sources,” said Mariano. The participants may also schedule meetings through an electronic system for promotion of meetings during the event.
Accelerate Oil & Gas, focussed on the oil area, will take place from the 21st to the 22nd of May, in the same format as Accelerate Brazil. For this event, the Faircount also plans the promotion of business roundtables with large sector companies.
The oil forum already has the confirmation of speakers like Álvaro Teixeira, Executive Secretary of the Brazilian Oil and Gas Institute (IBP); Sérgio Machado, CEO of Transpetro; Allan Kardec Duailibe Barros Filho, president of the National Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuel Agency (ANP) and Roberto Alfradique, general manager of Financial Management of Special Projects at Petrobras.
In this year’s edition of Accelerate Oil & Gas, which took place from May 15th to 16th, the event brought together over 700 visitors and generated around R$ 40 million (US$ 20 million) in business. For 2013, the organisation hopes to receive between 800 and 1,000 participants.
The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce is supporting the promotion of events. For this reason, the organisation’s associates have a 15% discount in enrolment fees. The values vary according to the kind of participation the visitors aims for in the forums, with or without exclusive meetings, and range from US$ 299 to US$ 2,490.
