São Paulo – High-end furniture company Saccaro, based in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, has just conquered a client in Saudi Arabia. Last week, the company shipped a 40-foot container to a storeowner in Riyadh including dining room sets, living room sets, coffee tables and side tables.
Negotiations started in November last year at Index, a trade show for furniture and decoration held in Dubai. According to the company’s trader, Tiago Lecey, the Saudi storeowner showed up at the stand in the second day of the fair and said that he would come back.
"He returned on the day before the fair’s last and enjoyed our line of interior furnishings. Negotiations had been underway since November," he said. "I hope to stay in touch for further orders. It was not that easy, it was a great challenge," he added.
The tables and chairs shipped are made of wood with details in natural fibre. According to Lecey, Saccaro’s differential is the organic raw material. In addition to the dining and living room sets, the company works with a line of furniture for outdoor settings, such as easy chairs, sofas, tables and chairs made from natural fibre. Products are launched twice a year, once in the summer and the other during winter.
Saccaro already has Arab clients in Egypt and Lebanon, which seek products with differentiated, contemporary design. Presently, the company exports to 27 countries.
In order to sell Saccaro’s products, salespersons undergo training. According to Lecey, in July, he travelled to Egypt and Lebanon in order to train sales teams. During training, the sales personnel learn about the features of Saccaro’s furniture, the concept of its products, and the history of the company, which has been on the market for over 60 years.
Headquartered in the city of Caxias do Sul, the company has 350 employees and has 20 franchises in Brazil, plus 22 galleries at multi-brand stores. Outside of Brazil, Saccaro has franchises in Bolivia and Mexico. The company’s furniture may be seen at several hotels and restaurants in Brazil and abroad.
In order to promote its furniture, Saccaro usually attends several international events for the industry. The next one will be in Chicago, in the United States, a market that has been standing out among the company’s exports. Out of the overall production, roughly 20% is shipped to foreign countries, mostly in the American continent.
