São Paulo – The Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar) is carrying out a selection process to admit refugees to its on-campus undergraduate courses in São Carlos, Araras, Sorocaba and Lagoa do Sino, all in the state of São Paulo. Enrolment will be open until Thursday (28) and the exam will take place on February 17.
The university offers 61 on-campus undergrad courses, including production engineering, pedagogy, physical education, biotechnology, music, psychology, geography, chemistry, tourism, mathematics and others. For each course, there is one slot earmarked for a refugee.
Candidates are required to have finished high school and must provide proof of refugee status via an attestation issued by the National Committee for Refugees (Conare). To enroll, go to https://form.jotformz.com/60202425663649.
The selection process will consist of a composition exam in Portuguese language. The exam will take place on February 17, 3pm in UFSCar’s “Pró-Reitoria de Graduação” building (the Office of the Vice President for Undergraduate Students), in São Carlos. The results will be announced on February 19 and approved candidates will be required to enroll immediately, with classes starting on February 29.
The selection call issued states that at any stage of selection and even after admission into a course, in case a student is denied legal status in the country, their affiliation with the UFSCar will be terminated.
