São Paulo – Saudi Arabia will host the fifth Crown Prince Camel Festival starting August 1, featuring a prize pool of SAR 56.25 million (USD 14.9 million).
The festival is scheduled to be hosted by the Saudi Camel Federation at Taif Camel Square and feature 589 races. It’ll start with an 11-day preliminary stage for all age groups featuring 350 races and will culminate with 239 final races on August 28.
Even as Saudi Arabia rapidly modernizes, the animals remain a central part of Saudi culture and are celebrated for their beauty, grace and speed.
Since the Crown Prince Camel Festival’s inception in 2018, it has attracted a huge number of camel enthusiasts from around the world. It seeks to support the country’s tourism and economic development.
