São Paulo – Brazil’s federal government hosted a FIFA delegation in Brasília to discuss the 2027 Women’s World Cup to be hosted in the Latin American giant. Minister of Sports André Fufuca, along with representatives from various ministries and national agencies, met with the FIFA group to discuss Brazil’s official guarantees for the event. The information comes from the Ministry of Sports.
“President Lula asked us to ensure nothing is lacking for the Women’s World Cup. He understands the importance of major events for the country’s image. We’re hosting significant events like the G20, COP30, and working to bring the 2031 Pan American Games. Our goal, and the president’s, is to host a great World Cup, which will be positive for the country and the Brazilian people,” said Fufuca.
The Ministry of Sports coordinates the Interministerial Working Group responsible for organizing the necessary conditions for Brazil to host the competition. On Tuesday and Wednesday (5), FIFA representatives had technical meetings to discuss details such as immigration, security, labor, taxes, and technology for the sporting event. The agenda also included the discussion of the draft general law for the World Cup, which will establish specific rules for hosting the tournament in Brazil.
