São Paulo – Saudi National Agricultural Development Company (NADEC) signed an agreement with the Municipal Solid Waste Recycling Company (Yadoum) to set up a plant to produce fertilizers using biowaste.
Saudi Arabia’s Arab News announced the news based on a material fact sent to the Saudi Stock Exchange, Tadawul.
NADEC, an agricultural and food processing company, is a major cow-raiser and dairy producer in the country. The herd generates 150,000 tonnes of biowaste annually. This volume will be sent to Yadoum for five years.
Owned by the Saudi Investment Recycling Company (SIRC), Yadoum will be responsible for building the biowaste recycling and processing plant to produce organic fertilizers. NADEC will provide the land for the unit, located near its dairy farms in the city of Haradh.
As part of the agreement, Yadoum will supply fertilizers to NADEC and pass on research and development expertise so NADEC can seek permanent and sustainable solutions for its waste.
