São Paulo – The Saudi businessman Omar Al Idrisi wants to open businesses in Brazil. His company, Al Idrisi Co., based in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, already acts in the civil construction sector, in Dubai, and with imports and exports in Saudi Arabia. In an interview yesterday (05) to ANBA, during his first visit to Brazil, he said he wishes to act in the same fields in the country.
The idea is to set up, probably in São Paulo, a foreign trade company to export Brazilian products to the Arab countries and vice-versa. "We want to work with all sorts of products, meats, fruits, building materials, etc," he said.
Al Idrisi stated that he plans on starting his project as soon as Emirates Airlines inaugurates a non-stop flight between São Paulo and Dubai, which is likely to take place up to the end of the year.
According to the businessman, the announcement of the creation of the route was fundamental for his decision to invest in Brazil, especially due to the decrease in travel time between Brazil and Emirates.
Al Idrisi also wants to invest in the construction sector, as he already does in Dubai, where he works with residential and commercial undertakings. He said he has been in the business for about 20 years and that his company has annual profit of about US$ 5 million.
