São Paulo – Boots and shoes by company Bompel, from the state of Paraná, are attracting the attention of visitors at the DBX Sulaimaniyah International Tradeshow, in Kurdistan. The samples are on display at the stand of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Brazilian embassy in Iraq.
"Shoes are among the most sought products at the stand," said the secretary general of the Arab Brazilian Chamber, Michel Alaby, who is at the fair. According to him, people stop to look at the shoes and request further information about the product. This is the first time that Bompel has sent samples to the fair in Kurdistan. Last year, the company participated in a fair in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
"We see potential in the Arab market and it is worth to invest in it," said the Foreign Trade analyst with Bompel, Marta Salvador. According to her, the company has exported to Jordan in the past, and now it is starting to resume its contacts with the Arab market." Those are countries that require differentiated work," added the analyst.
Bompel, which has capacity for manufacturing 7,500 pairs of shoes per day, exports 20% of its output to countries in South, Central and North America, in addition to making sporadic sales to Europe and Africa.
According to Alaby, importers of chicken and sugar also sought the Brazilian stand. Representatives of the Brazilian trading company Alliance, in the dairy industry, have also participated in the fair and made several contacts.
The DBX Sulaimaniyah International Tradeshow, which started on Tuesday and (11th) ends on Saturday (14th), brought together approximately 400 exhibitors from various countries, such as Iran, Turkey, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Germany and Japan.
