São Paulo – Small company Domótica, in environmental automation, and Polla Rennon, in cosmetics, want to open their doors to the foreign market and to start with the Arabs. Representatives of the companies were at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce stand at the Entrepreneur Fair, in São Paulo, on Wednesday (17).
Francisco Rodriguez Sanches, the product director at Domótica, which has a stand at the fair, an event promoted by the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae), said that he is greatly interested in presenting his product to the Arab market. Sanches, who is an engineer and a partner at the company, developed a wireless system for automation of environments that is already used in condominiums and houses, shops, theatres, hospitals and companies.
At the company stand, where a mock-up of a house controlled by Domótica’s MyWay system is shown, Sanches explained that it is possible to integrate lighting, household appliances and audio and video in just one button. “It is possible to control it all from up to 40 metres away,” said the director. According to him, if the person needs a greater distance, it is possible to add a signal repeater to guarantee access.
With eight employees, Domótica has offices in São Paulo and Curitiba, in Paraná, and an assembly line in Guarulhos, fully automated. According to Sanches, the control, which includes a touch sensitive panel, has a sophisticated proposal, without the inconvenience of a large number of keys for operation. “Apart from that, it is economical,” he added.
Businesswoman Yasmin Mourad, from Polla Rennon, also has a stand at the Entrepreneur Fair and aims to start selling to the Arab market. Yasmin, a chemist of Lebanese origin, has developed a line of products for body, hair and face. “All products have high-end technology and a natural concept, which is the tendency for the market today,” she said.
According to her, considering the Arab market, Polla Rennon product packages are already being translated into Arabic. “Arab women take great care of their appearance. I believe we can sell well in that market,” said Yasmin, who sought the support of the Arab Brazilian Chamber.
Yasmin said that her body-care products are in gel form, so they are refreshing and of easy absorption in the heat of the Arab countries. Apart from the cream, she believes that the products in the hair line, formalin free, for hair straightening, may be appreciated by Arab women.
Both companies are participating in the Entrepreneur Fair to show their products and seek distributors and retailers. The event, which brings together 120 exhibitors, presents much news to new entrepreneurs. Machines for ice-cream, cotton candy, sewing, fabric printing, coffee and others appeal to visitors.
Andrade Máquinas, for example, is exhibiting two machines for embroidery on T-shirts. According to the company’s consultant, Diego Meikaru, the machinery exhibited is aimed at those starting their business. A simple machine, with one embroidery head, costs on average 17,000 Brazilian reals (US$ 9,800).
According to the Market Development analyst at the Arab Brazilian Chamber, Marcus Vinícius, the fair is turned to those interested in expanding their knowledge about business and to those seeking more information for export. Apart from the Arab Brazilian Chamber stand, which brings market information, there is also a Sebrae stand, to aid businessmen in opening a business and supplying figures regarding export.
