São Paulo – The Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina (Fiesc) held a seminar today (13th), in the city of Florianópolis, to launch a business mission to the United Arab Emirates due November. According to the secretary general of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce , Michel Alaby, who was one of the lecturers, the event was attended by 45 people and was broadcast to 14 states by teleconference.
Lecturers also included the Emirati ambassador in Brazil, Yousuf Al-Usaimi, the Fiesc’s director Henry Quaresma and the project manager of the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex), Adalberto Schiehll. The mission, geared towards the building industry, is being organized by the Fiesc, but is an event promoted by the National Confederation of Industries (CNI), therefore companies from all over Brazil may participate.
In addition to paying visits to enterprises and free zones, the delegation is going to visit the Big 5 Show, the Middle East’s leading trade show for the construction industry, which will be held in Dubai during the same period. For those interested in exhibiting, there is still space in the Brazilian pavilion. The deadline for enrolling in the mission and the fair is October 1st.
The goal, according to Alaby, is to take 30 people on the trip, which should include visits not only in Dubai, but also in Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Ras Al-Khaimah and Sharjah.
