São Paulo – Exports of sweets made by Kiuti, based in the city of Marília, in the state of São Paulo, in southeastern Brazil, to Morocco, Algeria and Palestine, which began around six months ago, already represent around 15% of the total exported by the company. The target is to reach 40% by the end of 2005.
According to the Kiuti export manager, Eduardo Brizzi, the company peanut sweets, milk sweets, gum sweets, chewing gum, caramels, lollipops and fruit sweets are very successful on the Arab market. "Our chances of growth are very good, as we are already negotiating with Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Kuwait and Yemen," stated the company export manager, Eduardo Brizzi.
The company, established in 1995, employs 275 people and produces 35 tonnes of sweets per day. To the foreign market they ship an average of 20 to 25 containers (each containing around 15 tonnes) a month. The main destinations are North America, Central America, Europe and, if forecasts are proven, other Arab countries in the near future.
So that everyone understands the specifications of the products made by Kiuti, they have developed packages in Portuguese, English, Spanish and Arabic.
