São Paulo – The Arab Culture Nucleus of the Syrian Sports Club, with the support of the Arab Culture Institute (Icarabe), is going to promote a literary meeting with the secretary of Culture of the city of São Paulo, Carlos Augusto Calil, and professor Mamede Mustafa Jarouche, of the University of São Paulo (USP) College of Letters. The event will take place on Saturday (29) in the city of São Paulo, in southeastern Brazil.
The speakers will be addressing "The thousand and one nights and the Arabic influence on Portuguese", the themes of books "The Thousand and One Nights", translated by Jarouche, and "Oriental Influences on the Portuguese Language", by Miguel Nimer, reedited by Calil.
After the meeting, which is open to the general public, there will be a debate about Arab and Brazilian literature. At the end of the event, the speakers will participate in an autograph session.
