Palestinian companies are showcasing dates and date-based products at the Anuga Select Brazil fair, which started on Tuesday (8) in São Paulo. They are also offering olive oils and pistachio-filled chocolate in bid to begin selling them to Brazil.

The exhibition kicked off on Tuesday (8), showcasing the strength of Brazil’s food industry and the country’s growth plan as a supplier of processed goods, not just commodities. Arabs from countries like Palestine and Saudi Arabia are exhibiting in sectors where Brazil is not self-sufficient: dates and olive oils.

While visiting date processing facilities in the state of São Paulo, Saudi entrepreneurs say they can supply the Brazilian market with the product and help popularize date consumption in the country.
