Amid events to celebrate the UN Arabic Language Day that is commemorated on December 18, actions will be set out to promote, preserve and disseminate the Arabic in the following years.
The event’s first edition is taking place at the Federal University of Sergipe, with a schedule promoting the exchange of experiences and cultures between Latinos and Arabs.
The project was launched last year and has now received formal support from the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
Recently launched, the project covers five Latin countries but wants to reach all Latin American and Arab nations. Digital initiatives involving children and teens’ education are among the group’s ambitions.
With the initiative, the organization seeks to assess contemporary Arab culture in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia. The launch took place this Monday (22) at the Arab Brazilian Chamber headquarters in São Paulo.
