Three Algerian transport operators this week received 908 new buses, the first delivery under a fleet renewal program that foresees the arrival of 10,000 imported vehicles.

Transport Minister Saïd Sayoud said his office is working on the specifications for the buses to be purchased abroad, which will replace the older fleet currently in use.
Results released by the vehicle manufacturers association revealed a 16% decrease in foreign sales of light commercial vehicles, buses, and trucks.
Year-to-date through June, 2 million units were sold, including automobiles, light commercial vehicles, trucks, buses, and motorcycles.
More than 2.5 million new cars, light commercial vehicles, buses and trucks were sold in Brazil over last year.
Foreign sales amounted to USD 734 million in September. Shipped volume also went down, driven by weaker demand in Argentina.
Last month, 306,700 units were sold in the country. Year-to-date, sales have reached almost 2 million.
Over 73,000 vehicles got shipped in April, with revenue coming out to USD 1.68 billion, up 37% over April 2017.
January through March saw 180,200 units shipped from Brazil, up 3.3% year-on-year. Production, sales and imports went up as well.
