Brazil-based companies participated in the World of Coffee trade show earlier this month. The event was coordinated by the Brazilian Specialty Coffee Association, and deals made at the show are expected to yield 20.72 million over the following 12 months.
The cupping was organized by the Brazilian Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The event took place during the International Chocolate & Coffee Exhibition in the capital city of the Gulf country.
The event brought together 10,000 visitors and 43 exhibitors. A barista competition and business meetings were held. An organizer said several booths had coffee beans from Brazil.
In total volume, shipments declined 25% compared to August 2020. Cecafé informed the main reason for the downturn is the continuation of logistical bottlenecks in global maritime transport.
The event will bring together producers, sellers, national and regional brand representatives, as well as coffee lovers and connoisseurs. Brazilians can register to exhibit, and coffee growers can send samples of green coffee.
The volume purchased by the bloc in the first four months of the year was 678,000 bags of Brazilian produce.
Brazil’s Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé) is looking to replicate, in the Arab country, its ongoing marketing work in China. Plans including working with the federal government to join trade shows and B2B events in the second half of 2021.
