Coffee was among the top 15 exports from Brazilian agribusiness to the Arab countries in 2022. Of the list, coffee saw the highest price increase, up 88% from 2021.
Brazilian exports to the Arab nations decreased and revenue from July 2021 to June this year dropped. The cycle was of lower production, but the Arab bloc also diminished its share.
In 2021 the volume shipped to the Arabs and other major blocs was down. Production this year is expected to increase.

In July, Brazilian coffee exports fell 13% compared to the same month last year. The sector entity informed there are obstacles such as increased freight costs, cancellation of bookings, and disputes for containers.
Two Saudi traders had an online meeting with representatives of Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture, Cecafé, and BSCA. The Brazilians invited the Arab buyers to visit the country’s farms next year.
The volume purchased by the bloc in the first four months of the year was 678,000 bags of Brazilian produce.
The first quarter of this year saw Brazilian coffee exports to Arab countries climb 37%. Demand went up for green coffee beans as well as instant coffee.
Brazil’s Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé) is looking to replicate, in the Arab country, its ongoing marketing work in China. Plans including working with the federal government to join trade shows and B2B events in the second half of 2021.
Arab bloc imported 19.2% more coffee from Brazil in 2020 from the previous year. Highlights are North African countries. Algeria bought 310% more coffee from Brazil.
