Sales to those countries were up 12.9% year-to-date through November. Overall, 39.8 million bags of coffee got shipped from Brazil, the biggest amount on record, according to the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé).

Year-to-date through October, Brazil exported 1.6 million bags of coffee to the Arab countries. The region accounted for 4.6% of Brazil’s coffee exports.
Cecafé reported that, over the last nine years, the country increased its exports by an average of 3.8% a year. In Brazil’s largest coffee cooperative, Cooxupé, the volume exported in 2020 has surpassed whole-year exports in 2019.
Last month saw 3.8 million bags shipped from Brazil, up 8.6% from September 2019. Sales to the Arab countries were up 6.9% year-to-date through September.
Year-to-date through August, Arab countries purchased 1.17 million bags of coffee from Brazil, up 2.8% year-on-year. Export revenues, however, slid by 8%.
Different regions of Brazil are investing in specialty product to offset higher costs stemming from worker protection during harvesting. However, the industry is unsure about sales of higher value-added product, with cafés closed for over three months now.
Revenue from foreign sales was up 5.2% year-on-year, although shipped volume went down.
The month saw 3 million bags shipped from Brazil. Sales to Arab countries slid 15.7% year-over-year in the first quarter.
The first two months of the year saw 246,932 60-kg bags shipped to Arab countries, down 15.2% from January and February of 2019.
The country was among the markets that grew over 20% last year. Exports to the Arab world grew by 5%. Cecafé will participate for the first time in Gulfood in Dubai.
Brazil shipped 37.4 million bags year-to-date through November. Arab countries imported 12% more.
Brazil exported 3.4 million bags last month, down 13% from a year ago. Year-to-date through October, exports climbed 23%, tough.
Brazil shipped 1.3 million bags to the region year-to-date through September, up 26% from a year ago.
The first eight months of the year saw 1.14 million bags shipped from Brazil to the Arab bloc. Overall, exports saw the largest volume for the period in the last five years.
