International sales of the product were down 12.4% year-on-year in May, the International Coffee Organization reported.

Foreign sales from Brazil were up 3% year-on-year. Soy, the primary driver of sales, accounted for 58% of total goods shipped abroad from Brazil.
The country shipped USD 343.5 million worth of coffee in April, a drop of 12% over the same month of 2017. Year-to-date, foreign sales totaled USD 1.6 billion, also a decline of 12%.
Sales of the product to the region slid in the first three months of this year.
