The Brazilian footwear industry shipped 102 million pairs abroad year to date through October. The recorded drop reflects the global slowdown and Chinese competition, said the sector association.

The Brazilian company increased revenue from footwear exports to BRL 142.8 million (about USD 27.16 million) in the year’s second quarter. Grendene owns brands such as Melissa and Itapema, among others, and is one of the biggest global producers in the sector.
Brazilian industries shipped 7.5 million pairs of shoes abroad in the first half of 2022. In addition to the increase in volume, there was a 67.5% growth in revenue.
