At a forum in Cairo, the head of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce Office in Egypt, Micheal Gamal Kaddes, presented the results of the free trade agreement between the Arab country and Mercosur. Egyptian sales increased in revenue, and the range of products diversified.

The free trade agreement came into force in 2017. Egyptian exporters like Delta Brothers and Oriental Fruits say, without it, breaking into the Brazilian market and competing on price with other countries would be impossible.
The company sells garlic and frozen strawberries to the Brazilian market and intends to also supply grapes and medjool dates. Oriental Fruits was an exhibitor at the APAS Show 2023.
According to the Food Export Council, revenue reached USD 4.1 billion last year. The main products exported were rice, grains, onions, garlic, potatoes, vegetables, fruits, citrus, and peanuts.
During an event hosted by an Egyptian organization, Brazil’s agricultural attaché in Cairo discussed opportunities for exporters. The ABCC’s secretary-general was also a speaker in the seminar.
Ever since Brazil ok’d imports of Egyptian garlic, the Arab country became one of its premier suppliers of the product. Egypt is one of the biggest garlic producing countries in the world.
Agroindustry produces and exports olives, olive oil, and garlic and now has a branch in Brazil with its own staff and goods for immediate delivery. Announcement was made at the Arab Chamber.
