Upon his first travel to Brazil, then mechanical engineer Barakat heard from his mother that opening a restaurant could be in his path. After gravitating towards other fields, what first was a farfetched idea became a reality, and he’s now chef and owner of São Paulo’s award-winning Arab restaurant Shahiya.
