In meetings with authorities in Egypt this week, Brazilian minister Marcos Montes suggested increasing and simplifying Egyptian licenses to meatpacking plants in Brazil in order to increase supply as a way to deal with the surging prices.

The Brazilian Minister of Agriculture was received by Egyptian authorities this Tuesday (10) and discussed the supply of fertilizers and food prices.
Agriculture, Livestock and Supply minister Marcos Montes met on Monday (9) in Cairo with Egypt’s fertilizer exporters about scaling up the supply. They are expected to visit Brazil for meetings with buyers.
