Arab country allowed that Brazilian authorities authorize meatpacking plants to sell to its market, replacing face-to-face audits by Egyptians. Process opens the possibility to shorten the waiting list for authorization, which now includes some 30 establishments. Decision includes beef, pork, and poultry.

At an online meeting with business people from Rio Grande do Sul this Tuesday (31), executives of FIERGS and the Arab Brazilian Chamber showed ways for the state to export a broader range of products to the Arab countries.
Last month saw USD 8.21 million worth of product shipped from Brazil last month. Meats led the way, with sales also increasing for maize, cotton, and orange juice.
Brazil is going through the fourth day of a truckers’ strike, which has been impacting foreign sales, since meat cargos have been having difficulties to reach the ports. Per day, exports have declined by nearly 1,200 containers.
The region accounted for 31% of the meat company’s foreign sales between April 2017 and March of this year.
