A Portuguese-Arabic illustrated practical guide by Norma Simão Adad Mirandola was launched last weekend by Adonis publishing house. The book first started as a word list created by Mirandola to help her daughter learn Arabic. They are Syrian descendants.

In A Vizinha Tunisiana, the Portuguese edition of Al-Ishtiyaq ila al-Jarah published by Tabla in Brazil, Habib Selmi depicts contemporary themes through a romantic relationship between two Tunisians living in France. The Arabic translation is by Felipe Benjamin Francisco.
Egypt’s Al Arabi Publishing and Distributing company was established 48 years ago by the current owners’ parents. The two siblings found in Brazilian books a way of bringing to their readers the reality of a society far from their own.
The Brazilian Publishers sector project promoted the Professional Days at the Book Biennial in Rio de Janeiro. The event featured buyers from several countries, including Al Arabi Publishing, which already publishes Brazilian books in Egypt.
