The possibility of increasing cooperation, trade, and investments between Santa Catarina and Bahrain was the topic of a meeting between state governor Jorginho Mello and ambassador Bader Alhelaibi.

Opened in 2018, the Arab Brazilian Chamber’s first quarters outside of São Paulo was established in Santa Catarina to expand the organization’s operations and more quickly serve companies in the region that export or want to export to the Arab market.
According to FIESC president Mario Cezar de Aguiar, the state could implement a flight from the UAE to Santa Catarina.
