São Paulo – Port terminal operator and warehousing company Empresa Brasileira de Terminais e Armazéns Gerais (EBT) won, with a BRL 210 million (USD 54.56 million) offer, the public bidding for a terminal in the port of Santos, São Paulo coastline, held this Friday (28) by the National Agency for Water Transportation (ANTAQ). Granel Química and Cattalini Terminais Marítimos also made offers.
The auctioned area is in the Ilha de Barnabé terminal, in the Santos port’s left bank, has six terminals reserved to liquid bulk with three docks. The place is currently managed by the Dock Company of the State of São Paulo (CODESP).
Empresa Brasileira de Terminais e Armazéns Gerais already operates in the port. The total value of the contract for the terminal acquired this Friday is BRL 1.3 billion (USD 340 million), with investments expected to reach BRL 198.2 million (USD 51.49 million). The contract is for a period of 25 years.
