São Paulo – The film The Battle of Algiers will be shown on Saturday (28th), 2pm, at the auditorium of sociology and politics school Fundação Escola de Sociologia e Política in São Paulo (FESPSP). Following the screening, attendees will discuss the movie. The event is part of the activities of film club Cine Clube Darcy Ribeiro, an initiative of FESPSP students.
The movie is a depiction of key events in Algeria’s War of Independence from French rule. It shows events that occurred from 1954 to 1957, portraying clashes between the Algerian National Liberation Front and the French army.
