São Paulo – A group of 18 companies that produce ceramic wall and floor tiles is awaiting a financing plan by Investe Rio, the Rio de Janeiro state investment agency, so as to increase export. They integrate the Pedras Pádua Brasil consortium, established two years ago in Santo Antônio de Pádua, in the Northeastern region of the state of Rio de Janeiro.
With the financing, the group intends to build a centre for production, where the machinery operators involved in the production process will be based. The consortium has already exported to Spain, Portugal, and the United States. The target is to increase the number of foreign markets.
The project for construction of the centre forecasts investment of around US$ 840,000. Investe Rio should support the project supplying credit for civil construction, purchase of new equipment, and turning capital for associates. The Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) is one of the organizations responsible for the formation of the consortium. This information was supplied by the Sebrae news agency.
