Brasília – The Brazilian trade balance posted a surplus of US$ 159 million in the second week of September, resulting from US$ 3.088 billion in exports and US$ 2.929 billion in imports. The figures were disclosed today (13) by the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
In the first two weeks of the month, exports have totalled US$ 5.704 billion and imports, US$ 5.407 billion. With this, the surplus for the period is US$ 297 million.
From January to the second week of September, the trade surplus totalled US$ 11.981 billion, 42% less than that registered in the same period in 2009 (US$ 20.678 billion). In the accumulated result for this year, exports have totalled US$ 131.8 billion and imports, US$ 119.819 billion.
