São Paulo – The Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade disclosed on Monday (12) that Brazilian exports generated US$ 6.517 billion in the period from March 1st to 11th, which had seven working days. The average per working day was US$ 931 million, growth of 1.4% over the average in the same period last year. In comparison with February 2012, however, there was reduction of 1.9%.
Imports, in turn, reached US$ 6.257 billion in the period from the 1st to the 11th of this month, with US$ 893.9 million per working day, growth of 5.8% over the average price in March 2011 and 4.1% over February this year. In March, the country has recorded a trade surplus of US$ 260 million.
In the accumulated result for the year, exports reached US$ 40.686 billion, and imports, US$ 40.003 billion, which resulted in a surplus of US$ 683 million.
