São Paulo –Maximus Vitória Trading, headquartered in the city of Santa Maria, in the state of Espírito Santo, is seeking new markets for green and processed coffee exports among the countries of the Middle East. Sales to the region started 15 years ago and already represent 40% of all coffee exported by the company.
The main Arab importers are Saudi Arabia, Syria, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. In 2009, the trading company’s target is to win new clients in the region. "Our main focus for greater coffee exports is the Arab market, due to its enormous economic potential. We want to promote green coffee exports, our cash cow in the region, but mainly processed coffee, with greater added value," stated Fabrício Moraes Barcelos, the director at the trading.
According to Barcelos, Maximus exports all kinds of green coffee, among them Cerrado Mineiro, Sul de Minas, Rio Minas and Robusta (conilon). The company also processes, in its own ovens, roasted, ground and organic coffee, in different packages. "We also develop ‘private labels’, that is, we export coffee under our client’s brand," explained the director.
Apart from coffee, the trading company promotes exports of other products such as marbles, granites, porcelain and floorboards. Recently, the company also started developing work in the precious and semi-precious jewellery market, with Brazilian stones such as tourmaline, diamonds and emeralds. "Soon we will have news and good opportunities also in this sector," stated Barcelos.
According to him, Maximus places products in the domestic and foreign markets, providing differentiated solutions and alternatives for each situation. "We seek solutions for each need, according to the profile of each customer," says Barcelos.
The trading also exports to the United States and European countries such as Germany, Italy, France and England. "In the state of Espírito Santo, we are able to use the best logistical structures in the country. We have all types of transport in a single, be it by air, sea, railway and highway. We are prepared with the best options in the market according to the needs of our clients," he says.
