Dubai – On the second day of the Big 5 building sector fair, in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, the Brazilian Tramontina made 15 contacts with good business possibilities. The company is participating in the event with its line of sinks. “Visitors work with great projects,” said Elias Eid, the company Marketing and Operations manager for the Middle East.
He explains that the clients in potential with which he had contact were companies that supply material for real estate developers, companies that build and negotiate large residential condominiums.
To these clients, the main interest, he said, is in the line of economic sinks, cheaper ones, as the volume bought for projects was very high. “A tower may demand up to 300 sinks,” he exemplified.
According to the executive, most of the clients who visited the Tramontina stand are from the United Arab Emirates, but there was also interest from buyers from Egypt, Iran, India and Jordan.
Eid also added that the Big 5 also serves as a meeting point for clients with which the company is already negotiating, including buyers who came from Abu Dhabi to visit the company stand, located in the Brazilian pavilion alongside another five companies from the country.
“There is potential for us to start distributing to a client in Abu Dhabi”, he explained. In this case, however, the buyer’s interest is in luxury sinks. “For use in villas,” said the manager.
Since 2004, Tramontina has had an office in Dubai. In May this year, the company also opened a distribution centre in the Emirate, which operates especially in distribution of products for large hypermarkets. The main products sold here are the line of kitchen accessories, as well as sinks.
Eid reveals that the Middle East represents around 15% of the Tramontina’s foreign sales. The main markets in the region are the Emirates and Saudi Arabia, which also buys the Brazilian company’s tool and gardening line, and Kuwait.
Regarding the event, Eid said he is pleased with the second day of the fair, but that he wants to go ahead. “We hope for more serious contacts by the last day,” he finished off. The Brazilian participation in the event is organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex).
