São Paulo – Tunisian exports of processed products grew 28.2% in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year, according to news published in Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) based on data from the Agency for the Promotion of Industry and Innovation (APII). Exports went from TND 16 billion (about USD 5.67 billion at the current rate) to TND 20.6 billion (about USD 7.31 billion).
Sales by the mechanical and electrical sectors accounted for almost half of the export revenue of manufacturing companies, with TND 10.7 billion (about USD 3.79 billion) from January to June this year, compared to TND 7.6 billion (about USD 2.69 billion) in the first half of 2020. Exports of textile and clothing products (pictured above), chemicals, building materials, ceramics, and crystals, among others, also grew.
