Turnover in Port of Santos, in Brazil, should increase by 15% this year
In 2004, the largest maritime complex in Latin America generated a turnover of the equivalent to US$ 42.9 billion in exports and imports, or 27% of Brazilian foreign trade. Today the terminals in the city of Santos may load and unload up to 100 million tonnes of cargo per year, but the federal government wishes to double this capacity through public-private partnership project, with initial investments of US$ 700 million.
