São Paulo – A private equity fund from the United Arab Emirates will open a studio to develop student business ideas. The Al Zarooni Emirates Investments fund space will be established at the Citizens School in Dubai, where students of the institution will be able to develop startups, and the projects will be eligible for financing from Al Zarooni, according to the Arab News website. Citizens School is a British school for children aged three to 18.
Citizens School CEO and head of investment at Al Zarooni Emirates Investments, Hisham Hodroge, said the studio could come up with new startup ideas for the market. Assets were allocated to this project, and Al Zarooni is the sole investor in the initiative. The aim is for students to be able to learn early about business, develop ideas, and embrace entrepreneurship upon high school graduation.
Citizen School is a modern school that employs a tailored education curriculum in which students receive courses on entrepreneurship. Located in the upscale neighborhood of Al-Satwa, it aims to develop business skills in its alums. The educational institution has a 43,000-square-meter campus and a capacity of 2,600 children and teenagers.
The school employs innovative organizational features, accepting payments in Bitcoin and Ethereum. According to Hodroge, the reason for accepting payments in these currencies is to start a conversation between parents and children about the technology to influence the lives of new generations. According to the executive, almost 10% of parents who enrolled their children at Citizens School chose to pay in cryptocurrencies.
The move came after a survey showed that 69% of parents in the UAE believe virtual reality and artificial intelligence will significantly impact their children’s future. Citizens School founder Adil Al Zarooni said cryptocurrencies were just a term debated among investors and now are becoming increasingly popular, reshaping the traditional financial system.
