São Paulo – Real estate, construction, manufacturing, domestic services, market research, government sector, media and IT will be the sectors creating the most jobs in the United Arab Emirates in 2019, according to a news feature published in the website of newspaper Khaleej Times, based on the opinion of industry executives.
They believe that the government is making an effort to turn the Arab country into a hub of corporate and manufacturing services, encouraging the growth of these industries, which should result in more jobs in the United Arab Emirates.
According to the piece by the Khaleej Times, data from the UAE Central Bank shows that 60,900 additional jobs were created in the country between June 2017 and June 2018, boosted mainly by construction and real estate.
With these results, the United Arab Emirates surpassed the mark of five million jobs. The 1.22% hike in new jobs in the period means the country has 5.028 million active workers, says the Khaleej Times.
The construction sector’s workforce grew 1.92% to 1.7 million workers, while real estate companies hired 5.4% more, resulting in 604,000 workers. The two sectors are directly linked to the country’s preparations to host the Expo 2020, the world exhibition that will take place in Dubai in 2020.
Suhail Masri, vice president for employer solutions at Bayt.com, a career website, says that hiring intentions are on the rise and that three in four employers in the UAE have plans to hire in the next year.
