São Paulo – Brazil’s ambassador to the UAE Fernando Igreja met on Tuesday (10) with UAE deputy prime minister and minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan in preparation of Brazil’s president Jair Bolsonaro to the UAE due October.
The meeting took place in the national capital Abu Dhabi. Igreja said they discussed Brazil-UAE bilateral relations, and how they can be enhanced as a result of the visit by Brazil’s head of state. “We went over general aspects of the visit, the president’s appointments, and everything that’s in the agenda for our countries. It’s a very positive agenda,” Igreja told ANBA over the phone.
Brazilian congressman Eduardo Bolsonaro, who chairs the Chamber of Deputies Foreign Relations and National Defense Commission, had confirmed in a previous interview with ANBA that his father, president Bolsonaro, will travel to the Middle East towards the end of October. Eduardo took a trip to the UAE last August.
