São Paulo – The Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) in Brazil is accepting enrolments from migrants and refugees, who have applied for asylum or humanitarian visas, to complete graduate courses initiated in their countries of origin.
The deadline for applications is October 17, as per the call for entries put out by the UFPR Dean’s Office for Graduate land Professional Specialization Courses.
There are 149 seats available in graduate courses. Immigrants must choose courses to match the ones they’d been in. Classes will begin in the first semester of 2020.
The UFPR has been accepting migrants and refugees since 2014. Since 2018, it also hosts a specific exam for migrant and refugee students.
Applications
Candidates are to hand in their applications personally to the extensions project Asylum, Migrations and Hospitality, under the Migration Policy and Brazilian University Program (Praça Santos Andrade, 50, ground floor, room 28, in Downtown Curitiba).
Applicants must indicate their intended course and provide the documentation required as per the call for entries. The next steps are a written exam to determine Portuguese-speaking level, a curriculum analysis, and an interview.
