São Paulo – The campus in the city of Ribeirão Preto of the University of São Paulo (USP) will offer between August and October of this year an extension course about women and Islam. Titled “Women and Islam: an anthropological approach”, the classes will debate the Muslim woman and their religious universe based on elements of the Islam theology in an anthropological approach.
According to information published at the university’s website, issues such as marriage, divorce, knowledge, sexuality, among others, will be covered. The course will explain in which context the theological theories about the issues were produced and the important historical moments for the contextualization of the religious phenomena.
