São Paulo – The revolution that digital change is ushering in amid the Covid-19 pandemic will be the topic of an online conference next Wednesday (27) at 9 am. Hosted by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, the webinar “Digital transformation in times of crisis: change and adaptability” will see Brazilian and Arab specialists delve into the challenges posed by the pandemic and the resulting tech and innovation drive towards digital environments.
Speakers will be The Digital Strategy Company chief scientist and Cesar School professor emeritus Silvio Meira, Egyptian startup Robusta CEO Hussein Mohieldin (pictured at the top of this page), and Arab Chamber president Rubens Hannun and secretary-general Tamer Mansour.
Mansour notes that the point of the webinar is to portray digital change as a pandemic-fueled revolution. “We will discuss the fast-tracking of technology projects ranging from communication and media tools to projects which businesses already had in mind, like blockchain and proprietary platforms. This was always being put on paper, but it would never come to pass. The pandemic has changed that,” he said.
Mansour said businesses must adapt to technology in order to put their plans to work. “We would like to invite businesses to join this new wave of technology and innovation. It’s in our interest to have Brazilian companies adapt, because we will be needing technologies and digital marketing for a long time. Our idea is to embrace a learning model on how to get started on technologies,” he said.
Robusta CEO Hussein Mohieldin will provide an Arab perspective in the webinar by discussing the experiences of his corporate e-commerce solutions company, whose client list includes the likes of Mondelez, Pepsico, P&G. It watched business skyrocket amid the pandemic. Silvio Meira, a Brazilian scientist, professor, entrepreneur and investor active in software engineering and innovation, will go over the changes taking place in Brazil. He’s a go-to source as the cofounder of Cesar and the Porto Digital startup cluster, likened by many to a Brazilian Silicon Valley.
Arab Chamber Marketing manager Karina Cassapula explains that the debate will showcase how different brands are adapting to the new global scenario. “Faced with the challenges of the pandemic, the businesses that are prepared for rapid change are doing better and getting more positive exposure at this time. The idea of the webinar is to show how digital transformation impacts business dynamics amid unprecedented day-to-day challenges experienced by companies and institutions in Brazil and the Arab countries,” he concluded.
