São Paulo – World coffee exports were down by 7.6% in January from a year ago, according to the International Coffee Organization (ICO)’s monthly report. Volume slid from 10.29 million 60-kg bags in the first half of 2019 to 11.14 million bags this year.
In the first four months of 2019/20 coffee year – from last October to January – exports decreased by 5.8% to 39.53 million bags. Sales from South America dropped by 9.8% to 19.86 million bags, sales from Asia and Oceania declined by 5.4%, while Africa’s sales were up by 9.5% to 4.38 million bags.
