Biodiesel takes off
Starting today, ANBA will be publishing a series of articles about the production of biodiesel in Brazil. Currently, six mills are in operation and production this year should reach 176,000 tonnes, according to figures supplied by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP). The race is to reach the Brazilian federal government target of mixing 2% biodiesel into the common diesel sold in the country by 2008. With this mixture, the country may economize up to US$ 160 million with the import of diesel.
