Brasília – This Monday (2) in Goiânia, Goiás will see the first of four public hearings in the lead-up to the 6th airport concession bid round. The administration intends to auction 22 airports, divided into three groups – South, Central and North Brazil.
According to Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac), the hearings are intended to disclose details regarding the new concession plan. Further hearings are slated for March 6 in Manaus, Amazonas; March 9 in Curitiba, Paraná; and March 11 in Brasília. The highest bidders win and contract term is 30 years.
Airport groups are divided as follows: Central Brazil, comprising airports in Goiânia (GO) and Palmas (TO), São Luís (MA), Imperatriz (MA), Teresina (PI), and Petrolina (PE); North Brazil, comprising Manaus (AM), Tabatinga (AM), Tefé (AM), Porto Velho (RO), Rio Branco (AC), Cruzeiro do Sul (AC) and Boa Vista (RR); and South Brazil, comprising Curitiba (PR), Foz do Iguaçu (PR), Londrina (PR), Bacacheri em Curitiba (PR), Navegantes (SC), Joinville (SC), Pelotas (RS), Uruguaiana (RS), and Bagé (RS).
