São Paulo – On the third day of Anuga – the world’s biggest food and beverage exhibition, held biennially in Cologne, Germany –, the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce’s stand (pictured) is welcoming visitors from Brazil, the Gulf and North Africa. In addition to the Chamber’s work in fostering deals, its stand features Arbaza, a Brazilian company that deals in pulses.
“The show is living up to our expectations. It’s a gigantic event. The contacts are very high quality. The stand is getting a significant amount of Arab and Brazilian visitors looking to do business. This is an absolutely global fair,” said Arab Chamber Marketing and Strategy director Janine Bezerra de Menezes.
The most sought-after items so far were animal protein, rice, sugar, coffee, and grains in general.
According to Menezes, the stand at Anuga is a good space in which to promote the Chamber’s new service – membership for Arab companies. “We’re advertising our Arab membership services, the benefits we provide, and it’s generating lots of interest,” she said.
During the trade show’s opening on Saturday (5), the Arab Chamber stand was visited by Brazil’s minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply Tereza Cristina; Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), president Sergio Segovia Barbosa; and Brazil’s ambassador to Berlin Roberto Jaguaribe.
Anuga 2019 features 7,590 exhibitors from around the world, and 165,000 fairgoers from 198 countries are expected. The event kicked off last Saturday and will continue until Wednesday (9).
